Sanne van Tongeren, Sculptress

We are so happy to share this touching an beautiful interview with Sanne van Tongeren, and artist whose sensibility is as enlightening as her capacity to observe, appreciate interpret and reality.

Director and Principal Instructor of Figura, the Dutch Academy of Figurative Sculpture, Sanne (Nijmegen, the Netherlands) is a classically trained sculptor who holds a Master’s degree in ancient Greek and Latin. Previously, she was a principal instructor of The Florence Academy of Art’s sculpture program.

Though her work enters into a dialogue with the old masters, her sculptures remain contemporary. The human body and its movements are inspirations for both her illustrations and her sculptures.
